Here in Hawaii the powers that be are adhering to the original CDC recommendations on vaccine distribution. They want to make sure that all the most vulnerable people in the islands are vaccinated first. So 1a, being health care workers, is complete and 1b adults 75+ and designated essential workers are almost complete. That means that I am in the next group, 1c.
The announcement yesterday is that those in 1c will probably be allowed to make appointments beginning March 1. So close but yet so far.
I guess the debate in my mind would be which vaccine to take. Will it be Moderna, Pfizer or Johnson and Johnson?
I have ruled out Johnson and Johnson because the efficacy is low and I have stuff that needs to be protected. So, Moderna or Pfizer? I go back and forth. The folks that I usually go to for medical stuff are distributing Moderna, but Pfizer might be able to come by. I guess I have a couple of weeks to mull it over - and that I will.
After vaccination, the next thing to wrestle with is the variants. First strain - check, UK variant check - but what about the South African variant. Time will tell, but March 1st marks
one year since my husband and I went into hiding inside our house. No leaving except for necessary appointments. So that means we have left maybe 5 or 6 times.
We sure do not want to be on lock down again for another year, but this double masking thing is causing some questions. Guess we will have to wait and watch - and so we will.
Be safe everyone!
